Its a heartbreaking love song, my favorite. I also love the music video, its a sweet little love story. I have been a Nutini fan since New Shoes came out a few years ago. Listen to the new single, watch the video, read the lyrics and enjoy.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center; color: rgb(51, 204, 0);">I was perched outside in the pouring rain<br />Trying to make myslef a-sail<br />Then i'll float to you my darlin'<br />With the evening on my tail<br /><br />Although not the most honest means of travel<br />It gets me there nonetheless<br />I'm a heartless man at worst, babe<br />and a helpless one at best<br /><br />Darling I'll bathe your skin<br />I'll even wash your clothes<br />Just give me some candy<br />Before i go<br /><br />Oh, darling I'll kiss your eyes<br />and lay you down on your rug<br />Just give me some candy<br />After my hug<br /><br />Oh, and i'm often found explaining<br />But to her it plays out all the same<br />and although i'm left defeated<br />It get's held against my name<br /><br />I know you got plenty to offer, baby<br />But I guess I've taken quite enough<br />While I'm some stain there on your bedsheet<br />You're my diamond in the rough<br /><br />Darling I'll bathe your skin<br />I'll even wash your clothes<br />Just give me some candy<br />Before i go<br /><br />Oh, darling I'll kiss your eyes<br />And lay you down on your rug<br />Just give me some candy<br />After my hug<br /><br />I know that the writing's on the wall<br /><br />But darlin' I'll bathe your skin<br />I'll even wash your clothes<br />Just give me some candy<br />Before i go<br /><br />Oh, darlin il kiss your eyes<br />and lay you down on your rug<br />Just give me some candy<br />After my hug<br /><br />Oh, and I'll be there waiting for you<br />Know that I'll be there waiting for you<br />Oh, I'll be there waiting for you<br />Oh, I'll be there waiting for you<br />Oh, I'll be there waiting for you<br /><br />Oh, I'll be there waiting for you<br />I'll be there waiting for you<br />Oh, then I'll be there waiting on you<br />I'll be there waiting for you<br />I'll be there waiting for you....<br /></div><pre style="color: rgb(51, 204, 0);"><br /></pre><div style="text-align: center; color: rgb(51, 204, 0);">All they do is keep me waiting and waiting</div><br /><br /><object width="580" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lBFgPN4LePQ&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00&border=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lBFgPN4LePQ&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="580" height="360"></embed></object>Stephanie Jarvishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06782149319074069496noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1867197980385678637.post-85523008963842426002009-08-11T15:53:00.000-07:002009-08-30T18:45:20.237-07:00But please don't talk about murder while I'm eating.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgD7qfN65MzCXA43LvzURgN4LunfQ9U_6yl7GTGG4uKqjXBGcA29MG2fiEF6kTLUj685wJrHhYqeUkIXKC-hra-VALvsB5pKbNAjAC3PsloI-nWBq-Jztm-HmEOnsuOjEvjSoRv-zQ_hJEG/s1600-h/ben-harper-back-pic.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 368px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgD7qfN65MzCXA43LvzURgN4LunfQ9U_6yl7GTGG4uKqjXBGcA29MG2fiEF6kTLUj685wJrHhYqeUkIXKC-hra-VALvsB5pKbNAjAC3PsloI-nWBq-Jztm-HmEOnsuOjEvjSoRv-zQ_hJEG/s400/ben-harper-back-pic.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368844074268831266" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:180%;"><br /></span><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=130012644&s=143441"><span style="font-size:180%;">Buzzing - Ben Harper</span></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">I first saw Ben in a Jack Johnson music video playing a slide guitar. I had never seen a slide guitar so I did a little research and found Mr. Harper along with his whole library of music. The only way I can describe Ben's music is "funky-folk", he is kind-of a mix between Jack Johnson and Michael Franti. No only is Ben a solo act but he also creates tunes with The Innocent Criminals and Relentless7. Both Sides Of The Gun, Lifelines and Live From Mars are my three favorite albums from Mr. Harper. Much like Michael Franti, Harper writes/sings about social injustices and peace. Check out the video below for Morning Yearning, it was directed by the late Heath Ledger, the song is beautiful. It was 2004 and I was working at Joann Fabrics, one of the girls I worked with played his album , Songs From The Front Porch, while we cleaned the back room...I love it. Mr. Franti blends rock, pop, reggae, folk and funk all in one CD sized package. When Franti is not doing his solo acoustic thing he teams with Spearhead to blend his style with a full band. The thing I like most about Michael is that he sings about things others may be afraid to put music to; peace, social injustice and corrupt government. Another lil tid bit about Mr. Franti is that HE IS A VEGAN!!! Radiohead is absolutely one of the best bands ever. The first time I heard this album was on vinyl and I have come to the conclusion that it is the only way to listen to In Rainbows. From beginning to end the album is flawless. The alt-rock band lead by Thom York probably has the most unique sound in the music industry right now. One of the greatest things about this album is that it is a completely independant project from the creation of each song to the unique marketing and distrubution methods. </span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:verdana;">Key Tracks: 15 Step, Weird Fishes, All I Need</span><br /><br /><object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8nTFjVm9sTQ&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8nTFjVm9sTQ&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object></div></div>Stephanie Jarvishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06782149319074069496noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1867197980385678637.post-89348386518509001312009-07-02T13:27:00.000-07:002009-07-06T18:57:57.407-07:00Lick your sticky fingers boy and sing for your dinner sing.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj90f0Tu1rl9jMw0RJiV1zVOaavZL8VnySu1U1Jyl7XHptE9FmKvDNEI__kPAGf0h4xeUMSp-N-I9_iIqnaI38Fsv1h8vZsA3mblzX3Ws_ZrdFmn8MQEuSeteZWMeMQFKf3ImxIQeahVoZ7/s1600-h/cd.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 367px; height: 367px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj90f0Tu1rl9jMw0RJiV1zVOaavZL8VnySu1U1Jyl7XHptE9FmKvDNEI__kPAGf0h4xeUMSp-N-I9_iIqnaI38Fsv1h8vZsA3mblzX3Ws_ZrdFmn8MQEuSeteZWMeMQFKf3ImxIQeahVoZ7/s320/cd.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353963002852127650" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center; font-family: verdana;"><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=312609155&s=143441"><span style="font-weight: bold;font-size:180%;" >Buzzing - Big Whiskey</span></a><br /><br /><br /></div><span style="font-family:verdana;">Its been four long years...but the wait was well worth it. This album is one of the best Dave albums that I have ever heard. I love this band, they teeter between #1 and #2 on my list of top bands, they win the battle with John Mayer on occasion. The thing I like most about this album is how fresh it is. It is weird because after giving all the songs a listen they have the same ol' Dave flavor but they leave a new after taste. The collaboration is so unique because Jimmy would create the instrumentals and then send the rough copies to Ben so he could record vocals and finalize the instrumentals. The guys used the United States Postal Service to send the work back and forth so evetually they convinced the USPS to allow them to use the name. Like I have posted before, I am a huge Death Cab for Cutie fan so I think it is just natural that I also fell in love with The Postal Service. This band is just a little bit more electronic and abstract but that is what is so appealing about them.<span style="font-size:100%;"> I recommend this record on Vinyl because it comes with an extra record with some fun covers.<br /><br />One of my favortie lyrics of all time comes off of this album. The track is Clark Gable and the line goes: "</span> I kissed you in a style Clark Gable would have admired, I thought it classic"<br /><span style="font-family:monospace;"><br /></span><span style="font-size:100%;">Key Tracks: Clark Gable, Sleeping In, Such Great Heights<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNx3UBflcHC1zEQv-KnEKKGYykfyj1QsAAHdQpzyrgSN8uDdU_1llOmhCxixR2TiwAEEZessenbnq_giJxo8q1SmGKxBEdVwepPvO10XhbrKzaTunFYx5l7Uza0ejFZq_X7A9A5hZ3QoZ6/s1600-h/postalservice.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 174px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNx3UBflcHC1zEQv-KnEKKGYykfyj1QsAAHdQpzyrgSN8uDdU_1llOmhCxixR2TiwAEEZessenbnq_giJxo8q1SmGKxBEdVwepPvO10XhbrKzaTunFYx5l7Uza0ejFZq_X7A9A5hZ3QoZ6/s320/postalservice.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5327709226471052306" border="0" /></a><br /></span></div><span style="font-size:180%;"><br /></span><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div></div>Stephanie Jarvishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06782149319074069496noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1867197980385678637.post-49991332908497912692009-04-10T12:51:00.000-07:002009-04-10T13:12:49.701-07:00You can do better than than me, but I can't do better than you.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfZiop57WFtIIwANF-DcpyIS-X64r20jOSSOEbygUQJwglb4e41wz21RqIZ35Hwwv-Pyx7ozegLpY6lEYweeMiNgUMGFU-azCC9QaOSqn_HqMzN6bxnrQyAhpnzspo8yojXXQhUOhq1hoM/s1600-h/opendoor_splash.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 290px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfZiop57WFtIIwANF-DcpyIS-X64r20jOSSOEbygUQJwglb4e41wz21RqIZ35Hwwv-Pyx7ozegLpY6lEYweeMiNgUMGFU-azCC9QaOSqn_HqMzN6bxnrQyAhpnzspo8yojXXQhUOhq1hoM/s320/opendoor_splash.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5323153591686277666" border="0" /></a><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=309020532&s=143441"><span style="font-size:180%;"><br /></span></a><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=309020532&s=143441"><span style="font-size:180%;">Buzzing - Death Cab For Cutie EP</span></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">I have loved Death Cab For Cutie for a while now and their new EP is a fresh new addition to my library. The reason that this EP hit me so hard was because of track number two, A Diamond and a Tether. This is one of the most heart breaking songs that I have ever come across. DCFC has a way of weaving words to make them hit you straight in the heart. Not surprisingly they are both soundtracks for movies involving Zach Braff, not only is he a great actor, writer and producer but Mr. Braff has excellent taste in tunes. First is Garden State which is a great movie with a huge following, totally quirky. The second is The Last Kiss which is one of my favorite movies of all time, it is sweet and heart breaking at the same time.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjauaWo823ydM2zdmYnKqSE8-zBgiANzOVcPTSn0nE5yoevuX6odehVIeGbLVWSK4cjpcZaucunkaNSNEL-M73bkOvBUE2Nho7iGdEICu_0__MP3CpyzJV2eUddpi0wFUAbrTDsP1_GA75T/s1600-h/6118DHRrmJL._SS500_.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjauaWo823ydM2zdmYnKqSE8-zBgiANzOVcPTSn0nE5yoevuX6odehVIeGbLVWSK4cjpcZaucunkaNSNEL-M73bkOvBUE2Nho7iGdEICu_0__MP3CpyzJV2eUddpi0wFUAbrTDsP1_GA75T/s320/6118DHRrmJL._SS500_.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322144736684238898" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:180%;"><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=153445128&s=143441"><br />Buzzing - Garden State Soundtrack</a></span><br /></div><br /><br />1. The Dream's first album, Lovehate was stuck in my car's cd player for a good 4 months last year and Love vs. Money is no different. The Dream is best/secretly known for his songwriting talent. Seems to be that every song that he puts his pen to turns to gold (Rihannah's Umbrella, J. Holiday's Bed, Mary J. Blige's Just Fine). Although his songs are not lyrically deep he still pulls off a good hook and a catchy beat. The other thing that is so appealing to me about his two albums is the fact that they are buzzing with sexual energy.<br /><br />Key Tracks: Rockin That Shit, Take You Home 2 My Mama, Let Me See The Booty<br /><br /><object width="500" height="405"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/I2TOlH1QSTI&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x402061&color2=0x9461ca&border=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/I2TOlH1QSTI&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x402061&color2=0x9461ca&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="500" height="405"></embed></object><br /><br /></div><br /><br /></div>Stephanie Jarvishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06782149319074069496noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1867197980385678637.post-18894323356658983832009-03-21T12:26:00.000-07:002009-03-21T12:41:10.137-07:00I'm tired of the game, already played it.<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz-WpsMlsF54C-Ht51RWidDjDhBeOdGWWCbA7OHXziojg-F5G9wp4xxvsAtCmn3TFVy_JHTbuUUKOnCLIUMaJhrBBxidKJ1AXBYAZufhrqvIrdJZvMQ-dDFO5ftEyfG1AF-43CIQ7FU9Pg/s1600-h/ryan-leslie.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 190px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz-WpsMlsF54C-Ht51RWidDjDhBeOdGWWCbA7OHXziojg-F5G9wp4xxvsAtCmn3TFVy_JHTbuUUKOnCLIUMaJhrBBxidKJ1AXBYAZufhrqvIrdJZvMQ-dDFO5ftEyfG1AF-43CIQ7FU9Pg/s320/ryan-leslie.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5315726069577865442" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-size:180%;"><a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?i=303972625&id=303972623&s=143441">Buzzing - Ryan Leslie</a><br /><br /></span><div style="text-align: left;">I have to give more credit to the same person that turned me on to Cudi, he played Addiction for me and now I am hooked. The debut album, Get Lifted, is definitely on my top five favorite albums. I just remember seeing the video for his first single, Ordinary People, his voice and style was so unique. The reason that I love this album so much is because unlike most albums this one tells a story from beginning to end. The trick to this album is that you have to listen to the album from front to back to get a full picture of the story that John is trying to tell. The story told is the entire span of a relationship, from good to bad and back again.<br /><br />Key Tracks: Alright, Number One, Ordinary People<br /></div><br /></div>Stephanie Jarvishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06782149319074069496noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1867197980385678637.post-81675080139360888292009-02-14T06:33:00.000-08:002009-02-14T06:43:39.670-08:00Cupid's Acoustic Arrow<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0YFI5m4EC4iICx0SbSakpqBFOfdlDnJPKcQ6CfCJCAXx2VBVrnNYfIgQC8f9npQ-TYk8ih-VNk18RT9x7tkL-kPVcfIRwiV-jXsASrTCIek32MjQ0oU5tb2QvBl0RA35D7chPm3mNyuyJ/s1600-h/Dashboard-Confessional-vr01.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 324px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0YFI5m4EC4iICx0SbSakpqBFOfdlDnJPKcQ6CfCJCAXx2VBVrnNYfIgQC8f9npQ-TYk8ih-VNk18RT9x7tkL-kPVcfIRwiV-jXsASrTCIek32MjQ0oU5tb2QvBl0RA35D7chPm3mNyuyJ/s400/Dashboard-Confessional-vr01.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5302662194703361362" border="0" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size:180%;"><a href="http://grid.vagrant.com/grid/dashboard/evennowac.mp3"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Buzzing - Even Now (Acoustic)</span><br /></a><br /></span><div style="text-align: left;">I have never been a huge Valentines Day person...I mean the only guy who ever buys me flowers for Valentines Day is my Dad.
